Why is there a Bharat bandh tomorrow? Who will join the July 9 ?

India: On July 9, more than 25 crore people are going on strike in many employed sectors like banking, insurance, highways and construction, postal services, and coal mining. All over the country, many daily services will be affected and take part in the Bharat Bandh.

More than 25 crore workers are expected to take part in the strike event. Across the country, all the farmers and rural workers will also join or take part in the strike," said Amarjeet Kaur, a member of the All India Trade Union Congress, said.

The Bharat Bandh strike was called by a forum of 10 central trade unions in the country and their associates to make a strike to achieve success.

Why have trade unions called for a Bharat bandh?

The Bharat Bandh on July 9 was a statement made by "A group of trade unions stated that they are going to strike against the central government's 'anti-worker, anti-farmer, and anti-national pro-corporate policies."

Lastly, all the trade unions of India submitted as part of a 17-point charter to Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. They also blamed the government for no tangible action, which was supported as reported by PTI.

It claimed that the center's economic policies had led to increased unemployment, a rise in the prices of essential commodities, a lowering of wages, and a cut in spending on the social sector.
